ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMITTEES

Parish Finance Committee: Church law requires each parish to have a finance committee whose purpose is to aid the pastor in the financial administration of the parish. Following clear directives from the Bishop, the finance committee meets quarterly and as needed to assess the state of parish finances, review budgets and proposals, and advise the pastor on any issues which involve parish moneys.

The St. Joseph Men’s Guild: With St. Joseph, laborer and family leader, as patron, the Guild works to build and nurture the personal spiritual growth of men in the parish. The members of the Guild work to build a better Catholic community among the entire parish and to become an influential example and voice in the community at large. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month, at 7:30 PM in St. Joseph’s Hall. Membership is open to all men of the Parish.

The 35-Week Club: This is one of the parish’s oldest fund-raising efforts. The members of this committee work from January until October in collecting the weekly contributions of parishioners who are members of this group. At the end of the 35 week period there is a very wonderful dinner dance that comes as part of membership in this group. Weekly financial prizes are given away and larger financial prizes are drawn at the closing dinner dance.

Parish Picnic: This annual Parish gathering takes place every year at the end of the summer.  It is an opportunity for parishioners to come together and simply enjoy each other’s company.  There are special offerings for the children of our parish. The planning committee for this event begins meeting each year in the Spring and works to create an truly enjoyable celebration of the Parish.

The Calendar Club: A fund raising effort of the parish, members of this “club” are eligible to win daily prizes of $40 with much larger prizes on special days. Memberships in the Calendar Club go on sale during the last three months of the year.
